eleanor - you asked where I have been - I have been working and studying.
I did pop my nose into country living - but I wasn't happy with what I saw.
I didn't feel like posting there - too difficult.
This forum is very well set up.

Goodness me ellen, you sure are going to keep us busy! Okay, here goes:
Got a Maltese poodle, Pinky
In a Good Light (Clare Chambers)(busy with a few books at the moment)
Don't like to cook THAT much
Lentil soup, chicken, tomatoes, potato and leek soup, can't remember everything now!
Have 1 sister (10 years my senior)
Don't know enough of baseball to really say something about it.
Live in a house
Met a local famous actor
Free time?-in the fortunate event of having free time, I like to do some fabric painting, apart from clothes, I like to do some sewing (curtains, cushion covers, etc.)
Im 55
5 fot 1 inch tall
Motto - Strive to be a better person today than yesterday.
Hobbies - reading, especially everything I can find on UK, (see free time)
Only want to visit the UK!
Live in South Africa.
Living in a small village, no bus stop and train station doesn't exist anymore.
I like friendly, kind and honest people. People who have respect for others and fellowmen.
People I don't like - harsh, disrespectful, unfair people. People who are not honest.
Afrikaans and English, did have German as subject at school, but can't really speak the language. ALso had Sotho as subject in the first year of secondary school.
Something I do well - Play a bit of piano, can sing a bit, love interior decorating,
My dad was one of the most honest people I knew and a complete gentleman. He had a great love and passion for classical music and had a fine general knowledge.
Mum is pretty much the same really. Loved to sing, played the piano, loved classical music as well, loved to help people where she could, crazy about her kids and grandchildren. (Suffers from Alzheimers now, so non of these matter any more, unfortunately).
Love tennis, gymnastics, ice skating.
The human I respect most - a bit difficult, because I try and show respect for everyone around me. I have a huge amount respect for my husband because he's an amazing person. Always does his best he can for everybody, no matter who or what they are. And my boys of course.
If I see what fame do to some, I doubt if I would want to be famous. Having said that, I would've loved to be a famous concert pianist or to conduct a choir.
More a morning person.
Lived in 3 cities and now this lovely village.
Worked in tourism.
It's a matter of both really, but a lovely sunset will always grab my attention.
Perhaps a bit of both again, people and task orientated.
I hope that's all the questions - may be a few I missed. Quite interesting questions! :)

* Tell me about a favorite event of your childhood. Can't think of one of them either! I was miserable in school in my early years but loved it later on, and just spent my free time as a child playing outside, making up stories and doing fun stuff so I was pretty much enjoying a lot of it.

Could we put a bit about ourselves in the profile section?
yes there's a few fields that you can fill in in your profile, and add any pics including your avatar or a pic of yourself if you want. Mine is up there, I'm all over facebook and such like so I'm not so worried about having my mugshot up there. You don't have to though!

Can I please request if you would all kindly update your profiles with a rough location where you live? When you mention the weather or other local info, I look to see where you are, it's under your avatar if you've already done it, and it saves me looking back into your 'questionnaire'. Thanks, Fran.

I live in a village about 10 mies away. Its not a great place to shop nowadays although the centre is in the process of being regenerated with the building of the Hepworth Gallery and a riverside development. Hopefully it will be a great improvement and worth a visit again!
