Sister having an op

My sister is in hospital today having an operation on her face. She had a root canal done whilst there was an infection and she had so much swelling that one half of her face was completely distended - never seen anything like it. Thye sent her to one hospital and then on to another one to have an op on it. Haven't heard any news yet :( Worried! Her other half took the day off work to be with her and his phone is switched off so we can't get through to find out what's going on. Hope it's all ok...

Hi Oola, I'm so sorry to hear about your sister! I had root canal treatment done in the past. Fortunately I did'nt have infection, but had an abscess which caused severe pain. I hope she's fine and please keep us posted!:)

Update - she had a general anaesthetic and they removed so much puss. She's now on the ward and has a drain, with painkillers etc. We're not sure how long she has to stay in for, hopefully not too long as she just rehomed an 8 week old kitten at home. We've been going over to check on him as well as her partner's sister dropping in too.

Hi Oola, what a shame that your sister's dental work ended up like that, but hopefully the op will have sorted out the problem. She is in the best place, and has a great sister like you to care about her. 'Hope that she gets better quickly.

How horrible - root canal treatment is bad enough without complications. Hope she's home soon and that she's out of pain

Oola I do hope that your sister is feeling a bit better now, how horrible it must of been for her.

She's back home today, she was a bit panic-stricken because she's lost faith in people giving her the right meds and things not getting any better. But we've tried to calm her down a bit and I think she's much better now. She's got two weeks off work to properly recouperate (something a lot of people don't do these days I think), and her new kitten to keep her entertained too :) Thanks all for the good wishes :)
