Just got back this afternoon after a 2600 mile journey.
We drove down quickly through France, over the Alps, through the Frejus Tunnel (20 minutes), and on to Lake Garda. Unfortunately the weather was cloudy and wet over the Alps so there weren't good views. The rain continued into the next day, then cleared up, and we had a week of very hot sunshine, fabulous at the Lake, we were camping at the side. Then we drove down to the Med, and round to our favourite campsite near Antibes, where we had another 5 blisteringly hot days. Started travelling north, had another damp evening/night, but still very warm until the last couple of days, when it was dry and mild.
It's freezing cold here now, I've put the heating on!
