...any good books for Christmas? I was given two cookery books and plenty of vouchers to go and spend, which I am looking forward to do.

I had Folklore of Dorset, lots of seasonal customs, Mummers' Plays and Wife Sales!

I love getting book vouchers, but ddn't get any this year. I did get a book on making dog coats, a book on jewellery design, and 3 different novels set in South Africa. I showed my poor old dog the one with the coats but he just rolled his eyes! I can't wait to get started...

Did'nt get any this year, however, on Boxing Day bought the latest Sarah Challis book entitled 'That Summer affair' This is quite different from her other books, and not my favourite, still it was nice to read something fresh. I also bought. I also bought 'Agatha Raisin and the curious curate' by M.C.Beaton. Quite amusing but wo'nt be buying anymore in the series again. Oh dear!! I do sound picky!!!

I got Rick Stein's Mediterranean Escapes and The Great Arc by John Keay, so no fiction this time. However, daughter arrived from Panama with a suitcase full of books for us (and will take an equal no. of ours back with her; she brought Reginald Hill, Ian Rankin, Terry Pratchett and other authors that I don't know (yet) so I've plenty of reading for the new year.
