Beetroots!

Probably not totally the correct place, but as people do grow beetroot in their gardens I thought of putting it up here. I was in the veggie shop this morning and noticed these huge beetroots. I actually prefer to buy smaller ones, but these were so fresh so couldn't resist. It will probably become salad or I might put it in bottles with a spicy sauce.

I love beetroot. Sometimes I roast small ones with lamb. Delicious.

I love it at lot as well - I also roast if with a bit of olive oil, seasoning. Or roast it with a cinnamon stick - delicious! xx

I've beetroot growing in the garden now, but only little at the moment

Well I've cooked the beetroot yesterday and they are surprisingly soft for their size. My experience was the bigger they are, the more tough they are, but these I think was very freshly picked. Just going to make a spicy sauce and put in jars. Yum. x

Those look lovely Crocus, I would like to paint them. I grew beetroot last year and was eating it for weeks. I still have some pickled.
