Here are some of our holiday pics. The first 2 are of the Chateau of Acquigny, in Normandy, where my ancestors came from with the Conqueror. De Acquigny= Deacon. The Chateau wasn't built until C16th, so they wouldn't have known it!
The 3rd pic is the river in Chartres, would you want to live next door to these properties? The 4th is another Chateau, older than the first.

What beautiful buildings, Fran. Lucky you getting to see them close up. I love the ironwork, and colour of it, on the fence and gate in the first pic, and all the towers on the last one. It's like a fairytale building. Thanks for putting them on.

Then next. Pic 1 is a 'trompe d'oeil', painted on a wall in the square at La Souterraine, just north of the Dordogne region, and pic 2 is the gateway. Pic 3 is at St Jean de Luz, on the Atlantic coast down by the Spanish border. The mountains are the Pyrenees. It was 32 degrees when we were there, and about 20 at night. The last 2 are of Eymet, in the Dordogne. That was on our way back north. The weather turned cold after that, and I ended up sleeping in my tracksuit and socks.

The Chateau is quite magnificent and I love the 'trompe d'oeil'. It looks like you had a very interesting holiday franbee even though the weather was cold.
