We bought three hens on 20th of March, our first hens as a family (and my first since i was a child) and they are so sweet, with distinct personalities and very friendly. This morning, the final hen started laying, we are so excited, dd was jumping up and down with joy lol! Hmmm, now i need lots of egg recipes as three eggs a day is quite a lot for our little family!!

Hi Susie, Congratulations about your hens! It's lovely when they start to lay. I used to have five rescue hens who lived happily ever after in our back garden. Sadly, just one is left now. However, she is full of life and lays an egg daily. Her name is Alice. What breed of hens have you got? I totally agree with you. Our hens all had very different personalities. Alice is fine on her own because she used to be the 'killer' chicken! She never got over her life in the cages. Now she is very tame and very content to roam in the garden in the evening...with the dog! and lets us pick her up.

Ha ha, have already exhausted that list and am on to cakes :)

Sunflower, we have Black Rhodes - they are gorgeous! Your Alice sounds very happy, she must appreciate her lovely home!

Yorkshire pudding? What about souffles, Susie, they use lots of eggs. I am pleased to read your's and others' comments on this thread as I love hens, but we don't like eggs very much. I have always been put off having our own as I was worried that they would lay too many eggs for us to use, or that it would be cruel to keep just one on its own. The nearest I got to it was a previous neighbours Scottish Speckled and Wyandotte used to jump over our fence and romp around in our garden. I love the noises they make, and their amusing pottering around. When we move again later this year, I think I might get one or two at last. You have encouraged me.

Pancakes, quiche, lemon meringue pie. creme caramel (yum!), custard, swiss roll.

Google Slimming World 'Easy Peasy tasty quiche'.

There's chocolate mousse, if you don't mind your eggs raw!

Oooh, they all sound yummy :) Thanks for the great idea's!
Jazzactivist you should definitely get a couple, they are so friendly and just lovely to have around. It's so funny to find a chicken pottering around the dining room if you accidently leave the back door open (or purposely if you are my dd lol). I'm sure you'll find a neighbour who is happy to have a few eggs a week as well if you don't like them.
