I've just received my newsletter from Laughing Hens (knitting website) They are running a competition for a warm coat for rescue chickens to wear whilst their feathers grow. No- not an April fool! Thought we might have some hen keeping crafty people?

Oh do you have a pattern that I could see? I knit (basic but heartfelt) and keep rescue ex-battery hens, so would be really interested in this article. I know that I';ve seen some pictures of very bald hens coming out of the farms, and they do need little jumpers to keep them warm once they're out of the controlled climate.

Hens are sort of woolly hat-shaped, aren't they? Mmmm - I can see them now - attractive stripes round the body and a pom-pom on their bums! We will be expecting photos when you're done, Oola!
