Do you like me like old advertising tins?. :)

I have bought a few lovely old Christmassy ones lately, I don't know whether to keep or sell.

Softie has bought some lovely Christmas tins with a beautiful mug inside from John Lewis and why she really liked them was the money from each sale is to is to be split between 3 charites.Get along there right away they are such a bargain at £5 each.:) X

I'm not very much into tins, although I have a few from my grandmother and mum. I also have a smallish Johnson's Baby Powder tin I bought quite a few years ago, a McIntosh Yorkshire Toffee tin and a Sharps "the word for Toffee" tin. x

I have an original Ryvita tin which my Mum always used, I keep my Ryvitas in it too. It's silver embossed.

A couple of days ago I purchased a weetabix tin, so they couldn't always have come in a box. X

I love tins and have loads of them around the house. Big ones are very nice to store buttons in. I have one full of buttons. Already my great-aunt, who used to be a seamstress at some point in her life, stored her spare buttons in tins. When we were small we were allowed to play with the buttons and tins. I remember enjoying it a lot.

My mum stored her buttons in a tobacco tin - can't remember the name - but it's a red and gold striped large(ish) tin. My sister has the tin now, also using it to store her buttons. x

That's interesting Sunflower. Have you ever seen the Robert Opie Collection, it's out of this world. X
