View Full Version : Spicy Sauce For Beetroot.

SPICY SAUCE FOR BEETROOT.
2 Cups of vinegar
2 Cups of Sugar
3 Cups water
1 Teaspoon ginger
Half a Teaspoon ground cloves
+- 1/4 Teaspoon white pepper
1 Teaspoon salt.


Mix all of the above ingredients, bring to the boil.
Add your cooked and sliced beetroot and bring everything to the boil again. Put in sterilized jars.


PS. The sugar might be to much, so adapt to taste.

looks interesting crocus.is it a runny sauce or like a chutney.what do you eat it with.

It is a runny sauce Eleanor and when you dish it up, just use the beetroot itself. I use it as an accompaniment/salad and I also add some sliced onions - it's really delicious. It's lovely with any meat dish. xx
