We went to Tattershall Castle in Lincolnshire today. It was a lovely journey through lots of countryside with wonderful vistas. The castle has a double moat which I haven't seen before and a feild where they used to do jousting. I had a go at spinning wool on an old spinning wheel. There was an air display around the castle. There was a Lancaster bomber, a hurricane and four spitfires. We also saw a vulcan (I think) that had been in the gulf war, it was so low I could see the camouflage underneath.

The first two photos are of the castle and the third is a view of the parish church from the battlements of the castle.

Sounds like you had an interesting day out, DF. I remember the Vulcans flying when I was in college at Lincoln, many moons ago.

Oh how lovely DF! Quite a different style, and what a lovely view from the parish church. Thanks for the piccies! XX

In a way the church reminds me of a church in Aysgarth (I think) where we attendend a service.
