The first 3 days as we were travelling down through France were showery and cool. I slept in my tracksuit and socks for the first 2 nights, but sometimes it was very sunny. Just look at this blue sky. Don't know who the angel was on top of the Church.

We then spent 5 nights near the beach and 5 nights on different sites around Provence. It was scorching hot, too hot to go out between 11 and 5. There was a distant thunderstorm on the 7th night, we had an hours rain at dusk, then that lovely steamy hot earth smell whilst it dried up. Look on the top of that luxury yacht in Antibes harbour, all wrapped up. Have you guessed what it is? The 2-front-wheel scooter pics are for clunk and other enthusiasts. The ruined chateau was at the top of a very steep climb.

The next night we had very heavy rain, it poured down the site and under the tent. When I put my foot on the groundsheet it sunk into mud! We dried out in the morning, packed and moved on, but arrived at the next site in heavy rain. It rained all night, and we packed up in the rain too. At the next site, we got dried out again then had another wet night and nearly went home, but the rain stopped, the sun came out and we spent the last 2 days not far from Calais cycling in the sunshine.
Pics show a village house with 'trompe d'oeil' windows painted on upstairs, quite a common sight. a town with a large Roman site, and me in the rain, looking at the work of an artist who made his work from rubbish.

It seems like you had a lovely time Franbee inspite of the rain. The photos are great and the part of France you went to looks very interesting.
