Has anyone been watching Thursday evenings on BBC2 Kate Humble, the
Frankincense trail?
I am finding it very interesting. The scenery is unique, and the programmes give a real insight to modern day Islam.
It also gives interesting food for thought regarding the Frankincense gift brought by the three wise men to the young child Jesus. I have always imagined that, along with the gold and myrrh, it was just laid at the feet of the child. But now I'm wondering, did the Giver show Mary how to use it and did she call other women in to witness the event?
Also, Kate visited a beautiful ancient city built on top of a very high mountain Sinar, reported to have been built by one of Noah's sons. Again providing food for thought. I have never given much thought to the survivors' state of mind regarding the flood(whether a localised flood of worldwide is irrelevant). The fact that the city was built on the highest mountain he could find strongly suggests that he was traumatised by the event...afraid it would happen again. I love snipetts of information that throw up questions that take your mind on a different path leading to a deeper understanding. I call it putting flesh onto dry bones. If you have missed the first two programmes, they can be seen again on BBC 2 I player.

It's on at 8pm on Thursday BBC2. I also found it fascinating and hadn't realised that frankincense was sap of various trees. I thought the situation in Saudi Arabia for women was dealt with sensitively.
