I had a quick look at Provence, they seem to have chosen a rather hilly route! I would probably go for a riverside route, nice and flat!

We did some cycling holidays in Holland a few years ago. The countryside was lovely and suited us as no hills, also cyclists have right of way there. You can see so much from a bike. We even stood and watched a calf being born. The holiday company transported our luggage to the next hotel on our itinerary. It was noticeable though that all the guests that had cycled sat down rather gingerly at dinner and had a strange way of walking!
