Hi Oola, so sorry to hear about Yoko especially after she seemed to make some sort of recovery. However, what a wonderful two and a half years she had enjoying all the things that hens do. It is sad and I really feel for you. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
It just wasn't to be..she'd had enough and just wanted to sleep. I was so so sad. Thanks for your kind thoughts xxx

I'm sad for you too, Oola, I read about Yoko on your blog. But you must have given those hens a lovely life after their rescue.

I am so sorry to hear about Maureen and Yoko, Oola, but you did give them a fantastic rest of their lives for two ex-battery hens. RIP to your two girls.

Oola I was so sad when i read your blog this morning, losing a animal is so heartbreaking.
But following their exploits on your blog you gave them an amazing second chance at life.

Commiserations Oola, losing a friend is always tough especially when they had such a tough start in life, but you gave them a happy life which is a good as it can be for poultry.
Please don't think that I am glossing over their loss, but since you are now hen-less, if you do decide to have poultry again but want completely different characters, we had lovely egg-laying ducks as pets. We had one Khaki Campbell (who laid about 280 white eggs in a year) and an Indian Runner (who laid about 250 blue eggs in a year). Unfortunately they were taken by foxes while on holiday at a friend's farm (in spite of farm dogs being around). We would have had more but there are too many determined foxes in our area and any security lapses become a massacre.
