for my christmas letters i photo copy a photograph in colour onto the top of a4 paper.you could do it on any plain writing paper. each year i put latest photo of three grandsons in top left hand corner.that way all family and friends will see how they have grown each year. you could use photos of anything from pets to your garden to local scenery etc.it makes the letter a bit more personal and special.

by the way i have found more and more of my friends and family are doing the same in reply.it really helps to keep in touch with a difference.

These sound like a good idea Eleanor2, I know I for one don't write as many letters as I used to which is a shame really as its lovely to receive an unexpected letter from a friend through the post (as long as its not bad news of course!)

Yes I was actually thinking a couple of days ago, wouldn't it be nice to be receiving handwritten letters from family and friends through the post, rather than bills, reminders, advertising and junk. The last time I received a letter was from my cousin when she was studying to be an osteopath. I think that must have been a good 5 years ago now.

Eleanor your idea is great, as I have no children as yet I would probably do that sort of thing with my pets! About 6 years ago my parents did a fantastic Christmas card - it was of all the cats lined up and placed into a beautiful woodland snow scene. I still have a copy of it :) The year after I did a card for them of all the cats in a sleigh, and I still have a copy of that too!

What a lovely idea eleanor2. Each year I write to a lot of letters to friends around the world. I think I may give this a go this christmas, I could do one of my daughters blessing.

Which reminds me I better start writing, as I have quite a few too do and it can take me a day at least to write them all, as I try to write them my hand as I think it is more personal.
