This morning I've had a chat to my daughter, she's off for a sauna to help her diet along, I'm just off to a new car boot on our local railway station. taking jess with me as she loves meeting all the different people. May not be any good but I'll go and sus it out! Have a good day all, but will be thinking in particular of Sunflower and others that have loved one's in areas of conflict and those who died so we may live and their relatives. I feel blessed because know it is a sad day for many. My heart goes out to them and I will be showing them respect on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month X

Hi Sheds! It's a bit quieter here today. Have you seen some interesting stuff at the new car boot sale this morning? It always sounds so interesting.
It must be a worry for you Sunflower and the others who have loved ones in these areas of conflict. I'll keep them in my prayers and thoughts!
That's a nice thought Sheds about the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month!
Yes our thoughts go to Sunflower - wishing her son and all the troops good wishes, safety and a speedy return home xxxx
Today I think I will start trying to tidy up the smallest smallholding here, going to pick up the last of the crab apples (I put them on the HUGE compost heap where the birds can still get to them), take out the spent annuals, and fingers crossed, if I still have time I'll get my bulbs in - deep enough so the hens can't scratch them up!
Tomorrow I have an interview about this temp Christmas tree decorating job - hopefully she'll think my back can stand the work. I have done quite a physical job before, just as long as the work isn't repetitive and I can do a variety of things, standing up, sitting down, and no heavy lifting (although I think health & safety wouldn't allow it anyway) I'll be fine.

Good luck with the interview, Oola. My Sunday is developing nicely into a variety of tasks. I have just made the last of the Sloe Vodka and Sloe cordial (courtesy of this site, so thank-you). I have to send out the last minutes of our women's group meeting now, and think that I still have a bit of time to start sorting out the summer house. It is bright and sunny here today, but too cold to do anything at all in the garden. Yesterday I bought tiles for our fireplace, but won't have time to do them today so will leave it until next weekend. Andy is in the kitchen making us a traditional Sunday roast dinner, which we hardly ever have, so I am really looking forward to later.

Goodness sheddie ,you are the one to go to a car boot with, what wonderful bargains.I got tired of going to our local one which is held in the cattle market!!! but it is so long since I have been to one that I might well resurrect the habit.
I have been watching the Remembrance Day events at the Cenotaph, and thinking about you and yours Sunflower and others who served in the past,I have been cleaning up the inevitable mess made by my OH who kindly extended my computer desk to accommodate my new toy,it was a bit cramped before, but he has put another 9" on and it is a big help, and lastly, I have been preparing items to put onto ebay one of which is now on and the others have to be photographed yet.I have also prepared the dinner for tonight ,---oh and played on here of course!!!!---

That's all really nice of you to think about me today. Yes, to be honest I have been feeling a bit down. I went to the Remembrance service this morning which was packed with elderly gentlemen wearing their medals. It was good though to be altogether remembering the past and also the present. I think it is important that people have this Sunday. Somehow, whatever one's stance on the whole defence and war debate, a special day allows people to search their hearts and bring to the surface what they really think. On another related subject, I agree with Tony Blair who wanted to have an anual UK day. In other countries they celebrate their nation, so why not us. I'm sure people from other countries who have made their home here and have become British citizens think it very strange that we do not have specific celebrations for our nation with special foods and activities. What do others think?

Well, the day is kind of over now, but it was very relaxed. This afternoon we took Rosa (my sister) for a drive in the countryside, over the hills, zigzagging between farm fields. Most of the wheat has now been harvested. It drizzled this afternoon, and it's quite chilly for this time of year. Spring really is a bit shy this year.

Went to church yesterday morning for Remembrance Day with Ken, then came home cooked a slow Roasted chicken, while that was cooking we took Jack for a long walk and then popped into the local pub on the way back home. After the roast we were so full we could not do anything else, so I did some more knitting and watch some TV and was in bed by 10pm.
