Although I am married a lot of my friends are single and older than me, but one night I unknowingly got dragged along to a single's night.Horror!!! I wrote this quite a few years back, but thought it might make you smile - it goes like this! By the way it's a friend speaking!

Come for a girls night out, it really will be fun,
With my wonderbra, tight blouse with top button undone,
Now for the bottom, I'll wear a mini skirt I think,
I bought it at a Sue Ryder shop, no one will know when they've had a drink,
Shall I wear my high boots:rolleyes: with tassells and a flower in my hair?
Micro briefs under the spotlight, I haven't got a care,
I'd better wear lots of make up, that will do the trick,
Spray on lots of perfume, I'll be one hot chick,
Don't want to attract an old man, I'm only sixty odd,
Couldn't handle that, not for me a boring old s..
No, I want a 25yr old I can show a thing or two,
I'ii just go put another coat of make up on, in the loo,
Yes, I'll have another jive, I've LOADS of ennergy left yet,
What's happened to my tissues, I need to wipe away my sweat,
This really is loads of fun, shame you don't look as good as me,
It's so boring that I always get the guys, sometimes two or three,
Yes, I'll limp back to the car and put my teeth in steredent,
Spend tomorrow in bed all day, but I'll be glad I went!:o

we are all to abstract to fit into a boring stereo type of older woman.if we had a o.a.p singles night out we would be coming as security guards, dog costumes and liquorice allsort probably with one of sheepys knitted hats on etc i dont think they would even let us through the door.or they would think the inhabitants of the local psychiatric hospital had escaped .they would probably ring the hospital up to come and get us.

Sheddie, you ARE clever to think up something like that,as the others say,you paint such a wonderful picture;)

If we don't have an OAP's night out,we could have a' not the norm' night out, there is already the makings of something VERY different using the gear we had from the bonfire 'do'.There is of course every possibility that we could be 'detained' on the grounds of diminished responsibility but we can use in our defence the NTN umbrella, that should fettle them!!!!:D

Goodmorning all, I used to write poems about everthing and interesting people I met. This really did happen to me and I was scared stiff, it was like a cattle market being looked over as you went in.Mmmm who the verse was written about is a right one and the others think they're great too! really NTN. I sat at a table while they danced and a few chaps came up to me and with a trembling voice i said "I've only come to look after the bags".It's amazing the vivalry between singles at these nights and what sights you see, made me feel boring and yes! NORMAL!

"I've only come to look after the bags"! Oh Sheds, I wish I could witness this! Must admit, I won't like to be in that kind of situation! I'll run a mile!

All these "do's" really are exhausting for our "steradent" ladies!

sheddy i dont think you have anything to worry about.with all these unusual gatherings we have on line.you should be quite proffesional in your social gathereings.you will probably be the one leading the others astray.in a genteel way of course.

Aren't you the lucky one then! At the end of the day it's all about personality with me and how interesting people are and I don't really give a jot how anyone looks. x

same here sheddy.i rather have a fun interesting conversation any day with a normal everyday person.than be with some-one vain and boring or rich and pompous.
