What a brave and courageous lady . Not only did she lose her little daughter to a terrible crime she has battled and fought to help make sure other children are safe from such terrible monsters .She has now been given a job speaking on behalf of the victims of crime to the Justice Ministry to get a louder voice for the government to take notice .For an ordinary mum to be able to do what she has after all she has had to live with is an incredible achievement . I have so much admiration for her and she is a well deserved holder of the M B E which she was awarded . Well Done Sara Payne !!!

I think that it is good recognition for her, and I hope that she is able to represent other people's issues well. Sara Payne has worked hard as a result of her daughter's horrible death, but I am always a bit worried that people who would never have thought of campaigning for others before only do so after something has directly affected them, and are then thrust into the limelight without the correct training and skills. Will she be an effective voice to government, or just a token presence? Hopefully, we will see some well considered results and not just knee jerk reactions to similar crimes.

I read in the paper yesterday she will travel around the country and will be fighting for victims from minor crimes right through to the worst cases . I think she will be an ideal representive for victims as she has been one herself in the most unbearable of circumstances so does know what it is like and can express her views in a way to make others listen. I hope very much her voice will be heard .

Me too Dinger. She was on TV yesterday morning talking about the role. So far as I can tell she had a stringent interview for the position and Jack Straw was a member of the panel who appointed her.
I have every admiration for her - she's campaigned tirelessly over the years since her daughter died and that will stand her in good stead. She openly admitted that she has a lot to learn particularly about crimes against adults, but going by what she's achieved so far I'm sure that she will prove to be an excellent choice.
I wish her very success.
