Hi - I think I need to replace the brushes in my power drill, but I'm having a hard time finding where to buy them. Does anybody know where I could get some?
brushes in your power drill? maybe you contact the manufacturer? They are usually glad to help you replace the wear and tare parts as long as you don't want a compensation.;) but what sort of brushes are we actually talking about?

Thanks, I'll give it a go. I did have a look on their website and couldn't see any, but maybe they just don't list stuff like that. I'm talking about the carbon brushes that contact the commutator in the motor.

I'll ask OH, that's the sort of info he holds, but he's away at the Model Engineering show at the mo'.

Yes, I think Ivy is right, you will have to go to the manufacturer. Brace yourself though, for the last time we did this the replacement bits cost almost as much as a brand new tool! Then we had to do the taking apart and installing which was a bit of a nightmare as I remember it.

Gah. Yes the only place I've found so far wants £10 for them - you can buy a whole new drill for £25. I've found a place in America that sells them at a reasonable price, but then of course there's the shipping. Grrr...
