Hi all, for the last 4 weeks I've been experiencing some problems to get onto site, sometimes taking quite a while to open, and also takes quite a while to submit. When I want to go to another thread, it also takes a while.
At first I thought it could be due to the festive season perhaps, the internet being very busy, but I still have a bit of a problem.
Do you also experience any of these problems I mentioned? Thanks! xxx

Hi Crocus, not really, not sure what sort of speed you like, but I don't seem to be sitting waiting. I have been on some sites which are painfully slow and have given up

Hi Gentian, I've had this problem before, got it sorted, but it's back. It's probably the routing of data which causes this again. Thanks Gentian. xx

I get this problem periodically. Sometimes I can't get on at all and have to try later. I don't know if it is my computer or the rm site.

Starting mid June this year to be ready for 2010 World Cup, we will have much better broadband compare to the rest of the world. The UK and Europe enjoy between 10 and 20 megabits per second, whereas wee currently have to be satisfied with 386 kilobits per second. We received this info from our local web pages. This will allow us to watch movies on command, as well as sport etc. Arn't we lucky.... not about watching things on command, but to be on par with Europe and the UK. xx

I can only get 0.8 megabits - 10 to 20 is only if you're in a city! Still, it beats dialup.

I've got quite a struggle to get into site or onto a thread, or to post. Anyone else experiencing any of these problems? It's quite frustrating. xxx

I don't have any trouble logging in or with the speed of the site, but the link falls off periodically, but not off other open applications.

The server does have an occasional hiccup where it stops completely for a minute or so :(

How do I find out how many megbites my broadband is coming in on?

If you're in the UK, try here: http://www.broadbandspeedchecker.co.uk/
If not, then search for a broadband speed test near you (you'll get a more reliable result if the test is closer to you).
If it's less than 1mpbs it will show that answer in kbps, which is roughly 1000th of a megabit. Mine came in at 704kbps, so about 0.7mbps

Thank you Roborg - just tested and it comes out at Dowload 464 kbps and Upload 240. Not sure if this is good or bad - bad I think.

Mmm that's pretty much as low as you can get for broadband. Still much better than dialup though!

Thankfully I've never had any problems at all.

My computer was very slow but my son googled ccleaner and it clears all the rubbish and speeds everything back up.
