Must share my bit of nostalgia with you .Me and my husband were out delivering books this morning when we decided to call in at the school we both attended from the age of 5yrs old .It is now the oldest school in our town .We were given a tour round all the old classrooms .[What memories].We were amazed when we were shown the original old registers with my name as well as Sheddies our elder sister and younger brother when we started all that time ago. I have been invited with Sheddie to go and talk to the children about when I was there and to also read some verses from my book.It was a lovely welcome and they are proud of what I have achieved so far being an old pupil .

How lovely to have those memories. I too went back to my old primary school early this year as I can teach children to massage in schools. My old primary school has had a good success rate with the children being massaged so I went along to see the progress. I was amazed how small the school looked and the classrooms so tiny. Lovely memories though. I think that was my best school ever.

A couple of years ago I saw one of my old schools again. it was closd for the summer, so could'nt go inside. I was really happy in this little church school. We went into the adjoining churchyard and could look out onto the playground. There was a round tarmac patch where the old climbing frame had been, otherwise it still looked the same. It was a warm but strange experience imagining myself playing in the playground. It was like looking on a little girl that was'nt me.....hard to explain. I'm so glad I went back, as this was a rare and happy time for me,and great to show two of my sons where I once went to school.
