I've just seen Trinny and Suzanna on TV talking about about their lastest quest to get us ladies wearing the correct size bra. I recently started buying mine from a lovely lingerie shop that has opened in our village and was measured and fitted correctly.
My mum who is just entering the menopause had been complaining that her bras were feeling uncomfortable, so I took her along and guess what - for years she had been wearing a 38c and was measured as a 32f!!!
She's like a new woman, her figure has changed giving her a much more defined waist so I suppose T and S must be onto something with their new programme - its on tommorrow at 8pm.

Will have to watch that then. I do like S & T. I used to be a bra fitter for M&S and there were so many women that came in with the wrong size bra. Did you know you should be measured at least every six months.
Opening up a lingerie shop is one of my projects hopefully for next year, should there be a shop on the market in my town.

I love to watch T and S. Won't mind to get some advice from them, but just not on TV!. About the bra fittings, well, won't mind that either - it can make such a difference to your overall look! Must make a plan.

H H, if the shop is anything like the one I go to then it will be a great success, good luck with your plans. x

I think it is a good thing to be measured correctly, but still don't think there are enough specialist shops. How do you women get on with the underwired ones?

Oh I just hate those underwired ones! It hurts and it so uncomfortable! :(

Would you believe I still have a bag full of pretty underwear I had when I first got married tucked away in the back of my closet! Gossard push you ups, tiny little lacy knickers, even a suspender belt :o. I've been hanging on to them for 20 years in the hope that one day I'd get back into them! I still like to wear pretty bras, Victoria Secret - am glad they now do fuller sizes . But much to my embarrassment I really do like my Bridget Jones' big knickers - so much more comfy :D

I love my underwired bras, I wear multiways without straps. But my complaint is, why do so many bras these days have padding? I'm a 36c, don't need padding, just a lining will do. Fran.

Just watched T&S, they had 800plus women measured, and only 76 were wearing the correct size bra. How scary is that! How uncomfortable some of them must have been.

But I can believe it! I've had problems in the past and I was measured for what I'm wearing and get red sore marks by the end of the day! Would you have dared bare all though?

Yes, I'm not too fussed about that sort of thing, however I would have drawn the line at being prodded and poked.

I would love to know how to measure myself properly for a bra. I haven't found anyone in NZ who does this. If you do mail order, please let me know, I'm desparate for some nice quality bras.
I bought one at M and S when I was in the UK in March and its TERRIBLE. All scratchy and the wires weren't properly cased, so I have visions of getting a puncture from it at some point. Their standards have really fallen.

PS have you seen www.amplebosom.com? They have great stuff, but I'm pretty flat chested, so their stuff doesn't work for me.

No I am not fussed either as T & S said we should be proud of our bodies. One thing they did forget to mention and that is you should get measured at least every six months. Our body shape is always changing, you could be working out in the gym and then that changes the shape of your body, then you stop working out in the gym and once again your body shape changes.
The poor woman who had not worn a bra for 6 years I think has already done damage to her tissue and this will not repair, so never go without a good bra, and if you work out in the gym make sure you have a good supported bra. My daughter is the worst and she is a personal trainer, she too has damage her tissue muscle from either not wearing a bra or the incorrect support bra.
Well done to T & S for putting this across to the nation.:)
