This morning I decided I would have a rare day for me and stay in my pyjamas allday and I have generally bogged about and wrote lists, listened to Elaine Page on the radio with music from the shows, cuddled jess, spent time on computor, wrote letters to carer penfriends, had chat with people I haven't had the time to, made a tea and again made a tea.Prepared dinner for tonight and really enjoyed being an out and out slob. I have had my comfort dressing gown on which I refer to as 'Jacks Mother's' because it is so rough, but snuggy - don't know why I call it that even.Do you have a 'Jacks mother' kind of day ever?

I do this every once in a while. On a Sunday I usually get up just the same time, around 6.30 ish. Used to get up and go to Church, but haven't been to church for about four years now. So I go downstairs, make a couple of cups of tea and enjoy the quiet for a while - house backs on close to a busy main road. Then usually start a pile of ironing, Sunday am always get the ironing out of the way if I can. Tidy up kitchen and living room, put laundry and ironing away. Clean the children's bathroom, change beds, more laundry. Think about what to make for dinner, by this time it's usually lunchtime and am still in jammies. Vacuum living room, wash kitchen floor. By this time I really NEED a shower. Get dressed, do some more fussing around and wonder where the day went!

With boys in house! Not a chance, dear friends, not a chance. I envy you - enjoy your pj days! Once boys are on their own (not in immediate future though)I will have to catch up on jammy days! xx

Oh sheddie, what a wonderful picture you do paint of yourself,so pleased you had a 'Jacks mother's' day,and what a lot you managed to pack into it,a busy lady indeed.
I was all set to have a really lazy day today, but daughter and husband had other ideas!! but I'm not complaining They are both so good to us and it was lovely to see them.
Love the expression 'Jack's mother's'

But where did it come from? Is it a saying or have I just dreamed it up? I definately won't be doing a 'jacks mother' now all week or in the forseable future, but I think everyone should have one including you katelb.Although glad you had a lovely daughter day.X

I love my jimmy-jams, I must say though I have not done a day where I have stayed in them all day for ages, I think the last time was last winter when I can a very bad cold. It sounds as though you had a wonderful day Sheddie.

Now the darker evening are here I tend to put my jimmy-jams on early and have my supper in them, it just depends if I do not have any late clients or not. I think now though Sheedie you have given me an idea and I might just have a day of jimmy-jam wearing. Bliss

During wintertime I also put in the old jimmy-jams (love the word very much!) quite early. Sometimes it does of course happen that someone knocks at the door and then I have to run to our bedroom at the back of the house! And then wait for this person to go! Eek! But I won't mind to have a jim-jammies day at all. One day, yes, one day...........when there's no boys at home anymore! They won't mind, but most of the time their friends are here.

this morning i am wearing my daughters cast off p.js .from her over wieght days after having baby 2.they are a bit big.so when i walk upstairs with a mug of tea in each hand.sometimes they slowly slip down.i cant pull them up hands full.so by the time i get to huby we are both laughing as i shuffle along the corrider with my p.j trousers around my knees. hadn't better wear them to any p.j party i think.

I have just bought a lovely, warm, scarlet nightdress, and have taken to wanting to wear it all the time. I have never actually managed a full PJs day, as when I have a day off work I always have to get dressed to go somewhere or other in the afternoon. However, a couple of weeks ago I stayed in my red nightdess all morning - and discovered that lots of doorstep sales people visit our village, so who knows what they thought of me answering the door to them in my nightie. I'll have to give it a real try next time and pretend not to be in.
