:) I just thought I would mention that I am in the process of changing computers and I have a feeling it might prove to be something of a nightmare. My son-in-law (whose nearly new computer I am having) is trying to sort ou the email side of it at present, then later today,he and Sarah are coming up to install it.If I disappear for a time then the whole thing will have temporarily got the better of us,but I have every faith in son-in-law,there is not much he doesn't know about computers,so fingers crossed that it is all smiles by teatime!

I love the webcam part! As long as you stay in contact with RM please! Don't worry, you'll get used to the desktop!
As you probably know by now, we are leaving for the UK in a months' time, but I decided to take my laptop along - won't be able to not talk to all of you! There will be more contact with home via email as well. In the past we phoned the boys twice a week. Good luck with all the new technology! ;)

Crocus I'm so pleased you'll be staying in touch!! and Katelb, new computor, new hairdo, could any of this be due to your meeting a certain someone. I don't want any trouble with Daffers you know she is after Ely, so can only think your new image might be for Stew or old whiskers. What a person will do for a walnut whip?

Morning sheddie, when you say how do you put the smiles on ,do you mean adding one to a post here? If so,I asked the same question and it seems that if you use the 'post quick reply 'option you don't get to use them but if you you click on 'post reply' then there are lots to choose from. Give it a try.

I use a MiniMac and love it - you'll find your iMac so easy to use. If you're using the Mac e-mail program you can simply click on the fonts symbol on the menu bar at the top when you are sending an email and customise it's appearance. You can also change the colour, the size, whether italic or bold - but what you choose will only appear to the recipient if they have the same font available in their e-mail program.

Hi Redstart, I am slowly getting used to this new monster! it looks huge compared with my laptop but I'm already hooked, and have accomplished a few new things. I actually have been trying to change the fonts and the colour of the script but I haven't been successful yet.I didn't realise that only the recipient would see the different font, anyway,I'll get my son-in-law to do it next weekend when they are up ,meantime I'm quite happy with what I have. I might just have to send out a distress signal if I get into a pickle while they are at work though!!!!!

My son does that as well! It's great when you have someone to show the way - I have a habit of something not working and then my son (a Mac technician)shows me how to do it properly and it's easy and why didn't I think of it.
I use iPhoto, iTunes, Safari Mail regularly and they really are easy to use. Except I have far too many photos and a bad habit of downloading classical music from the iTunes store!
Happy playing about with it!

Thanks Redstart,I am completely hooked now and have forgotten all about my laptop days! and I've only had it 2 days!
We are looking forward to using the webcam a bit more after 'small person' arrives at the end of the year, although they only live about an hour's journey away, this new toy will make it seem like they are next door.
Like you,I have hundreds of photo's and they left a lot on the computer for me of the wedding and honeymoon etc.nearly a year ago. I haven't tried Itunes yet,but I might put some classical music on just to try it out.
