Has anyone read the journals of this most amazing lady? She is one of the Memsahibs we are studying in my University of Aberystwyth course. An absolutley amazing story of how she met and married her husband and the life she lead in India.

I've never heard of her Rustic. I don't know much, well absolutely nothing really, of India and the Raj. Can you give us some info. or links please?. Something you don't hear much about, but I'm sure very interesting.

I have been struggling for most of the morning to try and find information on her, and several others, with little, nay, NO success! There isn't even anything on Wiki! Most of the books by her, ie her journals, are out of print, so I am at the mercy of our lecturer who is supposed to be finding us references and providing us with notes, which I am yet to see.
The course I am taking is called 'Memsahibs and Maharanis of 19th Century India' and it is truly fascinating. The women we are studying are all the ones who 'bucked the trend'

Don't worry, I shall do so poste haste! Yesterday, we had many an extract read to us aloud from her journals by our tutor. It is his own personal copy of the book.
