As I'm sitting here typing away this evening, in not a particularly wonderful mood (oh the woes of being a financially independent adult), I can hear Rich (other half) upstairs on the phone to his brother. He is laughing away and it really makes me smile. Then my cat is looking at me, headbutting and purring, which makes me laugh too. It's nice when little things like that lift your mood.

How true Oola, my Oh is still fetching things down from our loft. Photographs from years ago and how different we looked, made us laugh.Every now and then another bump as he throws more things down, old diaries, babies toys and just now a popeye and olive oil hit the floor. It's the little things that make it all worthwhile, jess is snoring beside me and my friends on here make me laugh too.So glad you've seen the funny side, we have to don't we or we'd go mad.X

I don't think we shall ever need to go mad with this forum to cheer us sheddie, there is always something of interest, something to make you smile/laugh...all thanks to you Oola.
I love the mental picture you and sheddie painted about your activities yesterday,it reminds me that I have to go up into the roof and have a turnout, there is some stuff of my daughters which we can offload onto them.
They do say that'laughter is the best medicine ' and I would go along with that.

Hi, the little things in life makes us happy, give us a giggle and makes the big differences. Like my son who was busy on the computer (searching for a mobile phone). The next moment he came running in here, white as what in his face, eyes opened wide. "Dad, something shocked me!" What happened was, he stepped on some cable and for some reason this thing shocked him! He had such a scare! Fortunately it wasn't a serious shock, but the way he came running in here, whitefaced was just a picture! Poor thing. At first I didn't laugh of course, but hubby's whole body was shaking with laughter. Only when son started to giggle, I joined in as well.

Oh no Sheds - this can't be true! We'll have to teach you then - listening and learning for you too??!!

Yes crocus I am listening and learning and once again acquiring the art. I used to have such a sense of humour, but life sometimes takes it's toll!!

Hasn't someone done one of these medical studies which proves that actually, laughter is one of the best free medicines you can use? Doesn't it do something chemically to the brain or something? I just have a vague memory lurking in one of the dusty corners of my brain...must get out the feather duster.
Not only can humour make you feel better, it can help diffuse many an awkward, or potentially difficult, situation - or at least it has got me out of a scrape more than once, as a child, a teenager and an adult. (I never learn you see, often still engage mouth before brain in right gear.) Eric Morecambe used to make me laugh, just looking at him in those baggy shorts.... Jo Brand makes me laugh a lot...the poems of Pam Ayres sometimes....but programmes like 'Little Britain' and the new style of comedy leave me cold. And my youngest son and I laugh all the time when together.

Cannot laugh today as I have a migraine that is getting worse by the minute. Waiting for Sky TV to come and fix whatever has gone wrong and then I need to get into a dark room quick.

Hi Healing Hands, do hope your migraine is easing off now. On Sunday I had a migraine to end all migraines. Sometimes it has something to do with the air pressure which sets them off. Anyway, take care and hope you have a better day tomorrow.x

Hi Healing Hands, Hope by now your migraine is gone? My hubby used to suffer from migraines, but did not have it now for quite a long time.

I hope that your migraine has dissolved by now, Healing Hands. I am laughing at the moment at my dog who, being so elderly, managed to walk right through the contents of my sewing box without noticing. He is now trailing cotton threads and is covered in loose sequins, but is none the wiser that he has just upped his glam appeal! I agree with you all that small, unusual, everyday things can brighten up the day. I regularly have a chortle at the antics of my neighbours hens, and look forward to coming home to see them.

I too hope you are feeling much better, perhaps it was all the travelling you have been doing!
