putting on new avatars

:( I have been trying for ages to put a new avatar up. the picture i want to put up is on photobucket. crocus has been very very patient with me, but im still having no luck.

i copy the picture and paste it but then nothing. i think crocus is right in that i need to upload the picture to my computer first, but i cant get the hang of how to do it.:o can anyone help me?

Bonnie, on your control panel it has Option 1, with an http... link, have you put the photobucket link in here?

Bonnie, how did you get the photo to me in the private message? Have you downloaded the picture from photobucket onto your computer?

Crocus i ended up in the end not knowing what i did. the PM i sent you was just copied and pasted, but for some reason i had to load the avatar pic. to my computer then paste it.

Hi Bonnie, yes you first have to download your photos and pictures into a file on your computer, from there you can upload it on site. xxx

I want to upload an avatar, but the site keeps saying that my pic is too big. Anyone got any idea about how to 'shrink' it to fit?

I think when I did mine I altered the size of my filed picture using edit, saved it, then loaded. perhaps I was lucky and got it right!

Bonnie, I think to change you might also need to delete the present one first to enable you to have a new one

Go to "My Control Panel", scroll down to "Edit avatar" and follow instructions. xx

Hi TH I've just noticed your new avatar, it's lovely.

I took it when we went to visit gardens belonging to a country house near Cambridge - can't for the life of me remember where it was! The Lavender there was fabulous and swarming with buzzy bees which are my most favourite of insects - so gentle and graceful.
