Just wanted to share this with you, it's a bit of a long but I think interestng story. I had quite an experience last night and today with Hubby, Cousin and Cousin in law. My cousin and Hubby have been down here on Holiday. During the course of one of our conversations the 'house with the Blue roof' came up for discussion again. My cousin and I have often heard this term used by Granny and Auntie...my Cousin's Mum. They used to live there, and my Auntie had her 21st birthday there in the back garden which overlooks the sea. Over the years, but not recently, I have seen the blue roof from the promanade on top of the cliffs. My cousin, who lives miles away asked if we could walk along and see it, but there was no sign of it. So, after a meal we went hunting for the elusive house on top of the cliffs, and eventually found the road. By this time, it was really dark and could'nt make out which house had the blue roof, but suddenly a lady got out of her car and pointed to the house. It looked just like a house in a fairy story, but noticed it was empty, so we decided to return today to see it. Honestly, this house is amazing! It has an incredible blue tiled roof and it is empty. There were workmen in the garden, so, being cheeky we asked if we could look at the back garden and they obliged. It overlooks the Bay and Old Harry Rocks and the Needles could be seen on this bright sunny day. We took lots of pics to send back to Auntie. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the house. Built in the 1920's with all it's original interior. The garden is massive and one could just imagine an old fashioned 21st birthday party, with lots of young people, music, cake, bubbly and laughter.
But....hey folks, guess what???? They are going to pull it down!!! I cannot believe it, such destruction to a beautiful house. I'm just so glad that we took the trouble to search for it so we could give the pics to my Auntie. She has last stages of Cancer and really wanted us to find it. As we went around the gardens and looked over the Bay, going into the summer house, my cousin was on her mobile to Auntie describing everything she was seeing. At the same time, Auntie had got out all her old black and white photos of the house and was asking lots of questions. It has been one of those days when you feel Angels are leading you to bring joy into someone's life. Auntie was indeed joyful that we were standing in the grounds of the House with the blue roof.
