I came across a recipe for no knead bread, it looks very easy, few ingredients, a somewhat lengthy process, but the dough seems to take care of itself. It looks very tasty and sounds like an artisan type bread. Anyone tried making it?.

Hi Keepersdaughter, I posted 2 recipes I use for no knead bread in the thread Help - Baking bread. They are quick and easy. I don't have the patience or time for yeast cookery any more. In Ireland we also have the Odlums mixes - you just add water and pop in the oven. The 5 grain bread, and the tomato and herb are really good. Problem with homemade bread is, is goes too fast.! Thanks Tiggywinkle, the recipe and method I came across uses yeast, but no kneading, just a few folds of a quite wet dough which is left to prove for at least 12 hours, then cooked in a casserole or covered dish in a very hot oven, then last part of cooking removed from dish and finsihed for a short while in the oven itself. The bread got rave reviews and is compared to a fancy artisan type bread. I'm not going out of the house today so I'm going to have a go, I'll let you know how it turns out.
