These really inspire me! I always buy old cushion covers, at the moment I am buying any red, green or gold ones, sometimes they have silk or embroidary on them and I have a sofa full, they look so cosy and far better than new ones, they have a bit of history.I did buy a huge antique pelmet at a car boot, it is lovely but I don't know what I'm going to do with it.Do you like old textiles?

Last Christmas we went deep pink velvet. From charity shops I bought a variety of curtains and draped the furniture with them. Together with the Christmas tree and lights, the living room looked warm, cosy and very festive. I love vintage textiles, though round my way are difficult to find, especially the faded pink roses type, like gold dust but love them. In the past I have bought these fabrics from Laura Ashley shop and put them in a hot wash to fade them!!!

Yes, I love a sightly faded look ( possibly because it matches the slightly faded inhabitants). Don't like anything too new or shiny looking, things that are a bit battered or frayed around the edges have more character. I see that they are now making new fabric which looks old!

I think the Antiques trade is very much out of favour since the minimal look came in, so am finding old linen etc. very cheap.good hunting ladies!X

Hi, I'm crazy about antique textiles! It's just a problem where to find it - especially here. I especially love the antique textiles with a tapestry look. Beautiful.

I love old tapestry cushions. I have a pair of them in a gold, red and black rose pattern they are so gorgeous I can't sew so I find them intact. Also love any old linen, I buy lots on Ebay and markets.

Perhaps it's different in different areas, but keep your nose to the ground, it's out there.

Maybe down in Devon we're a bit slow adopting minimalism, as haven't come across too much in the way of old textiles. There is an organisation called Talent for Textiles, based in Somerset, they hold fairs from time to time but don't seem to have as much on offer as a few years ago.
