Hi all, just thought that I would share a bit of literary good news with you. My OH's poetry book has been short listed for the Forward Prize for a first collection. This is a big, national recognition prize and he is delighted, as of the 136 frst poetry books published by literary publishers in 2007/08, he is one of the 6 nominees. He has to go down to the big award ceremony in London in October. He doesn't think that he will win, as there is a 'favourite' who is a young woman poet who is really going places, but it is great to be nominated anyway. It is Fear of Thunder by Andrew Forster if anyone wants to have a look.

Thanks for telling us Jazz. How fantastic and will you be going to the ceremony ?
I guessed you were book lovers when looking at the photos of your old house.
Will be looking it up. Fingers crossed for him. Try writing poetry myself, not rhyming but free form. Have been very influenced by Dylan Thomas who lived here at one point.
Not as good as him yet though !

That's really exciting news! It's pretty impossible to get poetry published at all these days, so to be nationally recognised as well you have to be something special. So well done to him - hope you both enjoy the ceremony, and I wish him every success!

I am so pleased for Andrew Jazz . I know how hard it is to get a book published . I had to get a loan to get mine out there but it has gone all over the world and has done so well for my charity . Over £2,000 now. I hope he makes it big time and wins.

Love to you both and lots of luck .xxx
