I'm currently trying to talk hubby into a trip to France and it's like talking to a brick wall.

we had a fab time.the weather is fantastic.the thing is tho there are so many rivers there is a big dew rise every morning.the country is as green as England.in rural france lovely friendly people.brill food.the markets wow they are like England 30 years ago.they supply all local produce fresh.everyone shops at the open markets.we go the same markets each week.they are just so good.beautiful old medieval towns and buildings.it feels like home from home to me now.just gotta start learning the language.having 10 eggs cooked for you is not funny.

Eleanor, fantastic pictures! Thanks for sharing them with us.I'm positively green with envy. We planned to go to France in June/july this year, but ended up postponing it due to the cost. We travelled to Thailand instead and had a fabulous time. Although, I must admit I'm still dreaming of a french getaway and hope that it will happen in the not to distant future.

Dear Eleanor, How I wish our daughter lived in France instead of Australia. The long journey is such a hike. Still I can stay with a cousin in Paris, and we rent an appartment in Cannes. It is a great advantage to speak French. I envy you having that beautiful bedroom, and I love your photos. As you are also a Francophile, I must list my books about living in France in the book forum sometime, which I'm sure you would enjoy. We hope to get to Nice In Jan, as I am going for a wellearned break to America in Oct. Thank you for the joy of the photos.

tiggi i dont think i would cope if my daughter lived in australia.she is having a baby next january.i have been with her for her other births.she is insisting i am there again.11.30 her time last night she was on the phone to me.aranging what flights i can get in january.there are not many flights to france through winter. so i will have to fly to london ,then to france from there.i tell you this will be the biggest adventure i have had alone.she has had to pursuade me i can do it.so your trip to America...i take my hat off to you.i dont think it will be easy for me to come home after the baby is born either.i did a silent walk around the house when we came home last.i was sobbing my heart out having to leave them all.i had said my goodbyes the night before.as we had an early start.i asked daughter not to come and say goodbye in the morning.but she did and caught me crying.that set her off.she went straight to her computer and doubled her holiday plans when she comes to stay with us in a few weeks.
