Well, we're back from our camping trip in France. We went to Brittany for the first time. We decided it was quite like Cornwall, scenery, beaches etc, and also the weather, warm and sunny the first week then showers the second. I hadn't really thought, but as they have their own Breton language, a lot of signs are written in French then Breton, took a bit of sorting out! A bit like Anglesey in that respect.
Had a good time though, will miss the French lifestyle, and the Normandy tarts!
Fran.

I can't actually believe your holiday is over Fran! You were so excited and now it's over. xxx
There was a wonderful Channel 4 film about camping in Brittany starring Zoe Wannamaker called Balltrap on the Cote Sauvage. Balltrap is paintball. Has anyone esle seen it I would love to get a copy. Glad you enjoyed your holiday Fran

Got a few photos, OH will put them on the comp for me, then I can show you. Yes, it is a long drive, though Brittany was a doddle compared to our usual. We only went on 8 campsites in 16 days, not a lot for us.

fran i dont know how you do it.when we got here i didnt want to go out in the car for a few days.
Wondered where you'd gone, glad you enjoyed the holiday. We had several holidays in Brittany years ago and loved it. We were told that a welsh speaker and a Breton speaker could understand each other.

Here's a first lot of holiday snaps. The first is me looking at the Earth Collection shop in a town, can't remember which! The second is a funny little hut on the campsite, there were a number of these tiny ones, some a bit bigger and some modern ones. Next is Mont St Michel, a village on an island connected by a causeway. The ducks were on a tidal pond near our campsite, the villagers fed them, also there were a pair of swans. One had an empty plastic cannister attached to it's foot by string. We couldn't work out or understand what people were telling us about them, but it seemed very cruel to me.

Here's the next lot.
The seagull and 2 babies were on top of a wall at Mont St Michel. There were lots of these quaint houses in the southern part of Brittany. The housie place in the mud is an old sea powered mill, it was made so that as the tide came in and out it turned the turbine. OH was most impressed, it was very ahead of it's time. That is me playing on the bells at a bell foundry. And last, a busy street looking down towards the sea at the end.

Hi Franbee, what delightfull pictures, goodness me. I just cannot understand the canister tied to the foot of the swan! I wonder what Simon (Wildlife S.O.S) will have to say about it, I think he will be horrified!
The second lot of pictures are equally delightfull Franbee! Thanks for putting it on - I've never been in France, so I enjoy it very much. xx
