Unsolicited private message

Oola, I've just opened a weird private message. It's title was just "Re Jg" (almost my user name) and it just said "hey, what's up?". It porported to come from "Stephanie", but I have never corresponded with her and don't understand the message. Could it be an attempted Trojan, or virus?

Oola this has happened to me too, what does this me, I did reply asking her to explain, noe I'm worried about viruses, there was also a weblink which I opened - silly me. She has been trawling the members' list all morning

'She' has signed up with a valid email address, however I will contact the member and ascertain whether they are bona fide. I would urge anyone else not to open up messages from this user as it appears someone has joined up to spam members with weblink.

If you can, please run a virus check to remove any potential adware, spyware or viruses that may be associated with the weblink they've provided. Nothing to worry about, just a sensible precaution.

OK this is definitely just someone signing up to spam. I am deleting the account and sending out an email to all users about deleting this message. Sorry about this glitch. Difficult when people sign up to forums with genuine email addresses, only to abuse them.

hi Oola have an unread message in my box haven't managed to open it.OH has all sorts of security on the system,wonder if I'm not doing correctly or it is the rogue others have queried. If you have time ,is it possible to check ?Thanks

I had a private message from this person too but after reading Oola's email deleted it without opening it.

Sorry to bother you, Oola. But I tried to empty the "private message" folder last night and just now but somehow it didn't work. Help please.
