This morning I woke up to our first morning of frost and how lovely it was too. I took the dog out for his morning 6.30 walk and it was so lovely and fresh, and now although it is chilly the sun is out. I just love the weather like this, it really shows the Autumnanl colours.

Off out to get my back sorted for the last time (I hope) and the out for lunch with a special friend.

Have a good day everyone...Happy Bunny....:)

Hello Healing Hands! I got up this morning at 7:15am and we had just mildew on the grass, although I guess it could have been frost a bit earlier. Lovely and fresh outside, the sunshine makes it so much more welcoming out there. The hens seem to be enjoying themselves, they partook in a bit of sunbathing yesterday having had to endure ridiculous amounts of grey dull drudgery and rain for the past few days.

I think I might get myself out there for some therapeutic fresh air, goodness knows I need some soul food right now!

Brought my pots in tonight - my chocolate cosmos will NOT be ruined by the frosts! Despite the forecast I don't think we'll get a ground frost here tonight until next week, I don't think the moon is high enough.

Chocolate cosmos? Never heard of a chocolate cosmos Oola? I'm quite interested, tell a bit more please? I know the white, pink and dark pink cosmos, or is it different to the chocolate one?

Lovely here on Dartmoor, packing up soup lunch to go out for the day in the camper. Frosts forecast at night so have been wrapping up the butternut squash at night9 the awful summer has meant they're not yet ripe enogh to pick).

Chocolate cosmos is dark browny colour + smells of choccy. ( sorry to butt in, just in case Oola is busy).

Although not a really strong smell, it does smell divine.

And what BBC says is rubbish, my chocolate cosmos will flower through to Novemeber, I can guarantee. Just need to keep deadheading it!

We're a day later than you and had our first ground frost this morning.

Before we leave for the UK next week I need to dig and bring in all my dahlia, spiraxa and freesia bulbs, move my gooseberry bushes, dig up all the Jerusalem artichokes (we get permafrost in winter!) and generally clear up and protect what needs protecting. It will be November when we get back and then it might be too late. Having been warmer than the UK all summer we flip over to be colder in November. And yes, I have my thermal vests, warm socks, woolly jumpers and my new pair of soft woolly gloves poised and ready for action!

Gorgeous spring weather here but that is only today. Who knows what tomorrow will bring; we often have frost after Christmas in full summer. It usually puts an end to our tomato and pumpkin growing efforts. I must admit the silvery sheen of frost is very pretty.
