Hi all, just to tell you that my house is sold - within a week! The person who bought it is a very nice woman from Ireland, with two lovely dogs. She came round for lunch today to have a chat and discuss the moving date, and brought me a beautiful yellow rose to take with me when I move down south. I can't believe that in amongst all the credit crunch et al, we managed to sell our house so quickly and for the price that we wanted, and to someone who is likely to really enjoy living here too. So, we move down to near Kendal on 28 July. I am so looking forward to exploring a new area and thanks to the RM-ers who have given me some hints and tips so far. I'm sure that I will be asking for local info about Cumbria soon.
Miracles DO happen ! I am so glad everything went so ell and you have got a good feeling leaving house and garden behind. Hope everything regarding the move goes according to your wish.

Congratulations Jazz, I am sure you will have a good move ,we moved here on July 28 last year and have never been happier,we also have some very good friends who are moving the same day as you! Will be thinking of you in next few weeks whilst you are packing up, take deep breaths when the going gets tough, and have a cuppa!
Best Wishes, it will be fine.

Well done Jazz, you must be relieved. Glad you're moving 'down south', to my part of the country, well, by birthright anyway! Morecambe Bay is beautiful, not too far from you.

So pleased for you Jazz, we told you how nice your house was.
But it's difficult sometimes to judge your own isn't it.

Glad to hear the good news, Jazz, and I hope that the move goes really smoothly for you and your family. You will be in for a busy time from now on then, packing up and all that entails, but very exciting too. You are moving to a lovely part of the country. Keep us informed as to how things are going.
Nice one Jazz, so glad it has all gone so well for you. Isn't the sale process slightly different in Scotland, so once a sale has been agreed there's not the high percentage of sales that fall through, as is so common in England?
I bet you are really thrilled, and looking forward to the day after 28th July (my sister's birthday too ;)). The woman that is moving in sounds lovely, I bet that's nice to know too. Well done xxx
That is good news! Can't say that I'm too suprised having seen the photos- was sure it would be snapped up. Best wishes for the move.

Great news. It's so nice when you sell to some-one you like. You somehow don't resent someone else taking over the joys of your home. I was sad leaving our first home, but the people who bought it are still there 28 Years Later. The very best of luck in your home. Tiggywinkle

Thanks everyone for your support and encouragement. I can't think now how many questions about my house and life changing I have posted on RM and received very sensible advice from you all. Now the biggest task is packing up all our thousands of books - in boxes that are not too full and heavy. When we moved here we had less of them, and still had 53 big boxes of books! It means getting a specialist removal company too, as the axels are not insured for the extra weight. Unfortunately, we have weeded out as many as possible, but will have another try this weekend. However, I don't think that there will be much of a reduction...

Hi Jazz, thought I'd chip in and say 'me too!' We should be completing in a couple of weeks and all of a sudden the mammoth task of actually moving is looming.I've had 2 wildly different quotes for the removal and cant decide whether to bother getting another quote or to go with the cheap guy on the basis he has insurance and we don't really own anything irreplacable. We'll see. Anyway good luck, hope all goes smoothly for you and you find the reinforced tank you need!
