Finally with the big move imminent I started taking my plate collection down from the wall to wash and carefully bubblewrap each one. As I did, memories of where each piece came from flooded my mind. A sunday market, a garage sale or a gift from a friend or my dear sister;each one is very special to me and I will be pleased when they are safely mounted on a wall in my new home. What do you have that holds memories like this? :)

You are good bubble wrapping and cleaning each plate before packing! & so much nicer when you unpack. My memories are china plates from my grandmother who actually went to china as a housekeeper for a naval diplomat. Also little trinkets from travel abroad, like a dish for olives & their stones, from Portugal, a wooden animal from Africa etc. Old china that was 'in' years ago and now cannot be found etc.

Hi, also some china from grandmom, mum, and a few treasured very old pottery bowls, a big white meat platter I inherited from grandmom, treasures I bought in England. Come to think of it, quite a few odds and ends really which has a lot of sentimental value.
Hope everthing goes well with all the packing and the move!

A photo of my late husband. It was taken in Antarctica by one of the passengers and one of the last photo's of him taken. When she heard that my husband past away she kindly sent all the way from Canada a mounted photo of him. this will always be special, also where I have it hanging he eyes and smile follows me around the room.
