Hi Gilly,I think that is the right attitude...an open mind.... For many years,I worked in the pharmacy of our local Health Center and we kept just a small supply of homeopathic tablets for our regular patients who actually said they couldn't function without it and used it in preference to conventional treatments. I think it depends what you are treating as to whether it is a success and I also think you need a huge dollop of trust in the fact that it WILL work,I can really only remember two patients for whom homeopathy was 100% successful and that was taking Rus Tox for arthritic symptoms,I think that others used it because prescription drugs didn't always agree with them.
It will be interesting to see what your experience is,so do let us know.

That is interesting - thank you.
I have an appointment at a Homeopathic Hospital and felt that is the only route to go if I am going to try it. I thought with all the chemicals that are being pumped into me and they are aware of the conventional treatment I am having then it is the most sensible way.
Many years ago for my Asthma and Hay Fever I wished that I could afford to go to this very same Hospital, when my children were young, but it was the days of no car and other things seem to take priority over yourself.
So in a way BC has given me the opportunity to try this - strange old world we live in. Perhaps that is where the saying 'There is a time and a place for everything' could be used.

Many years ago I used to suffer from Migraines and the only relief was to lay in a dark room for several hours. As the medical world wasn't producing a better solution I sought out a homeopathic doctor who was also a fully qualified MD.
He did cloud things by finding all sorts of things that I am slightly allergic to, but the end result was I have never had another migraine (and neither does my wife have any aluminium cookware).
I would have seen him for other things too, but couldn't afford it in those halcyon newly-married days...
Sometimes I'm tempted to see a vet rather than a doctor, as they seem to take a more holistic view and work things out with very little patient input, but a homeopathic hospital sounds good to me.
Go for it Gilly.
As a trained homoeopath I am a firm believer in homoeopathy of course. There are limits to it though like to all sorts of medicines. There are great cancer therapy supplemental remedies like mistletoe etc. I used to be very sceptic regarding Bach flowers until I tried them out on my dog who used to suffer from panic attacks without organic cause. (at least the vet could not find anything) I treated her with Bach flowers for a week and she never had those attacks again.

Thank you so much Ivy and your reply was very interesting.
I am deffinately not going with the thoughts of a cure for BC. However, I think a 'one to one' with a homeopath getting to know me, what symptoms I have, if they have any thoughts on what might help - brilliant. Even if I come out with something to try for my Hay Fever I will be more than happy.
I have looked at homeopathic potions in e.g. the large chemists but have felt I do not know what I am doing. So I am looking forward to this experience.

I'm not sure if this is the same sort of thing my daughter is going to . it is a chinese place and she is having acupuncture also cup things stuck on her back and when she comes home she looks like she has big bruises where they have been , these last for a few days but she believes what they are doing is working very well for her shoulder which after being operated on is no less painful.

I don't think it is the same but I know of it. I used to do Tai Chi and was taught by a lovely Chinese husband and wife team. He also did this form of healing and acupuncture.
I am now waiting for my homeopathic medicine and once I start taking it I will let you all know if it has helped me feel better.

Gone into a bit of an over tired session.
Had a quick look here and thought I would give you a brief update.
Ist appointment was for one hour. Within minutes I was very tearful and that kept going for the whole session. The Doctor suggested that we deal with making me more calm I suppose you could say. (So I came out not even discussing my Hay Fever and did not expect to be crying within 5 minutes.)
It turned out to be like, as I would imagine, an intense therapy session. We discussed my dreams, my fears, how I felt with my diagnosis all so in depth. On the way home I just felt shattered and this lasted right through until the next day.
I had some powders sent to me and I had to take three over 2 days. Then just one each following week. Oh! You put the powder on your tongue.
I had an appointment to see her last week for 20 mins and I will be seeing her again in 12 weeks.
What I had to report to her was that I really think it is making a difference in so far as I used to always dream about something. Now there are mornings when I wake up and cannot remember if I have dreamt. When I have dreamt they have been quite strange, sometimes frightening but I can in a way interpret the meaning. So the Doctor suggested taking one now every fortnight just to see if that eased the intensity of the dreams. With the option to go back to as before if it got worse.
I have noticed that I am more able to cope with everyday things but who knows I might have reached this stage anyway? I think that is the way Homeopathy works when it is to help the mind maybe. You wonder if you would have felt like it anyway.
One thing for sure I had an e-mail from one of my old schoolfriends who I met up with a few weeks ago. We used to meet every year but we missed last year because of my BC treatment. In this e-mail she said that she could not believe the change in me. I was so relaxed and she had never seen me like this before.
So Clunk, I went for it and pleased I did.

I'm pleased it is working for you Gilly, it sounds as though you have a more positive attitude to it too.

Yes I have tried Homeopathic remedies and the truth is No they did not work for me, but I am not saying they may not work for someone else.
When my husband passed away, I got depressed but did not want to go down the road of taking anti-depressant so I tried Homeopathic, it was quite expensive it was costing me £30.00 a session. for a while I thought that it was working, but it was just a placebo effect, because then the depression kept coming back, I did try hard to see if it really worked as I had heard such interesting results on people, but it just was not meant for me.
I did not go for the anti-depressant by the way, I just rode the whole thing out by doing it naturally. Yes, there are still days when I get depressed but then the grieving for my husband will never go away.

Glad it's helping Gilly. One of the doctors I used to work with also had a homeopathy qualification and would often recommend treatments to his NHS patients if he felt it was suitable. Some of the other GP's pooh poohed it but he said that while he did not understand how it worked he had evidence that it did. He also pointed out that conventional medicine does not always work the same way in each patient.
With the dreams Gilly when I was going through intense therapy about 15 years ago it was suggested to take the characters or objects in the intense dreams as if they were myself. Speak or write what they were trying to say - if that makes sense.
I found it very useful and some surprising insights came out.
