Thanks for the tip regarding use of the paper clip icon Oola, that has sorted that aspect out! However, I notice that if I click on the thumbnail picture attached to my blog in order to check it after posting, it remains small. It doesn't enlarge. What am I doing wrong?

To give you an idea of what I AM doing, today's picture of the meadow and the cat is 17.2 kb and 94 x 125 (which I assume is pixels?).

I do get confused between mb and kb I have to say (rather dopey when it comes to things like that!!)

I noticed on one of devonellie's blogs that she had quite large photos in her text. How did she manage that, as I would like to achieve the same!!

Thanks, Salle

Hi Salle
I think you need to go to your control panel and then edit Avatar. There you can choose Custom Avatar and upload your picture from your computer.
The maximum size though is 80 x 80 pixels or 19.5 KB.
Hope this works for you.
I may try it myself but I'm new to all this. However, I do sometimes sort out IT problems.

Hi salle, when I click on your thumbnail picture in your blog, it looks fine to me!

KB means kilobytes
MB means megabytes

It's a bit like grammes and kilogrammes - you can have 1234KB, or you can call it 1.234MB. so anything over 1000KB tends to be converted into megabytes (MB).

I think it's all working fine for you at the mo :) Also, I think the reason it works for Dobby is that she finds pictures already on the Internet and insets them into the post using the insert picture icon (where you need a web address). The icon looks like yellow sky with a moon or sun and grey mountains. You click on it, paste in the web address of the picture, and then when you post you'll see the picture.

If you want to use this method instead of thumbnails, you can get yourself a photobucket account. It's REALLY easy to use, it took me about 2 minutes to sign up yesterday and get going. Very user friendly as it's used by millions of people.

Hope this helps :)
