Hi Oola, Since yesterday morning I struggle to come onto site. I can get onto the forum page, but the moment I click onto any thread or "general" the words "Gateway Timeout" appear on screen. I've tested other internet connections and I don't have any problems there. I will be so grateful if you can have a look for me please?
Thanks Oola.

Hi Oola, me again sorry! Over the last 3 days I've had all kinds of problems trying to get onto site. As I've explained above, once I'm on the homepage and click below on "Please click here for RuralMuse" it takes ages and ages to react. So much so that "Gateway Timeout" appears time and again. Should I get over this obstacle, and onto the forum page and click on "General chat" the same happens again. About every single time. If I click on the thread on the right handside of the forum page, it workes in some cases, not always. Should I get over this obstacle as well, click on a thread, the same happens again. It's been quite a frustrating 3 days. Mr C did various tests and it emphasizes the fact that the problem does not lie with us. Sorry to be such a bother, but I really would like this to be resolved. Thanks Oola! xxx
Hi Crocus, no bother at all :) Sorry I haven't got back to you sooner. I asked Rich about Gateway Timeouts, he says it's some sort of link between your browser and the RM server. Has anybody else had this problem at all? I'll copy your post and email it to Rich (he's upstairs on his computer) and see what he says about ways we can try to resolve it. So sorry you've had this problem.
It might be easier to try to go straight to http://www.ruralmuse.co.uk/forums as your homepage for now. I'll get back to you ASAP. Apologies for this!
What sort of tests has Mr C done Crocus? Just to help us determine what the prob is :)

Not to worry Oola! I'm not quite sure what tests he has done to be quite frank, he's the computer boffin of the two of us! He's asleep now, (having a bad chest infection) and will ask him tomorrow. Thanks anyway. I think your right with the problem lying with your server. Because sometimes it's really fast, whereas other times it takes ages to get in or onto a thread. At the immediate moment it seems fine. This happened through the past 3 days - there's times when everything works for a period of about 5 minutes, then next thing it slows down to a snails pace. But as I say, I'll ask Mr C tomorrow what tests he has done. Thanks Oola! xxx

Hi Oola, at last I could through to this thread! Mr has done a ping test, changed from Advanced Browser to Firefox Browser, and Firefox doesn't react at all. We can get to the homepage, but upon clicking on www.ruralmuse.co.uk it doesn't even blink. He is going to speak to the technical help desk to see what might be the problem. The problem is at it worst when I click on "General chat". There's very little reaction at all. It took me about 10 minutes to get to this thread. I've tried Mr C's computer and the same thing happens. At the moment he's trying Firefox but it doesn't react at all. "Gateway Timeout" appears as well. Thanks Oola xxx

Hi Oola, at last the problem seems to be sorted. Mr C spoke to the technical desk of our ISP and they recommended to make use of their proxy server. Lets see how it goes. Thanks Oola xxx
