Have just finished reading 'Summer Visitors' by Susan Sallis. This was a very good read. I find some of her books are terrific and others leave me cold.
This has an indepth storyline with intriguing characters. It traces the lives of a family, and in particular their daughter, then her daughter spending each summer in Cornwall from 1924 to 1964. It was published in 1988, so one of her older novels. Might be worth a read if you find it in a charity shop...like I did.

Hello Sunflower,

Like you, I find some of Susan Sallis's books really enjoyable and others difficult to get into and not that good a read. In fact, I have just sold all mine bar one, 'An Ordinary Woman', kept because there is a personal card inside it from her to me. But they are books I have outgrown it seems. At the moment I am reading 'Blue Slipper Bay' by Wendy K Harris, one of the Transita imprint - are you familiar with this publisher? They offer some really good literature for the 'more mature' lady shall we say, a response to all the fluffy chicklit that crowds the bookstore shelves.
