What tips have you using ordinary household items?
My 1st one is put 2 denture tablets down the loo and it will be shining white and bright.

oh sheddy hubbys giving me funny looks.i'v just laughed till i cried. for a moment i thought you said drop your dentures down the loo and they'l come up nice and white.
If you spill wax on clothing or something else, simply place a brown paper bag on it and iron it out.
Also, if you ever find you've got chewing gum stuck to your clothes, stick the item in the freezer, leave for a few hours and then when you take it out the chewing gum should break off quite easily.
I imagine they're quite well known tips!

what about cleaning your windows with newspaper and vinegar. i have a friend who was quite poor in her younger days.thats how she cleaned her windows.she says she had the cleanest windows in her street.
yep white wine vinegar is the best as it's brilliant for removing grease and grime. I remember when I was a kid, I used to clean people's car windows with vinegar and they came up absolutely spotless.

If we have a burnt-on pan I add vinegar and bicarb and a little water; sometimes it needs more than one application but the pan comes clean every time.
And if you have epns cutlery or tarnished silver, soak in large container containing hot water, bicarb (or baking powder - 2 tsps or so) and a strip of aluminium foil (kitchen foil) for about 20 minutes. Then rinse and buff up the cutlery or silver with a clean cloth. It comes up clean and shiny every time and the cutlery does NOT taste of silver polish! There is a reaction with the aluminium, which "attracts the tarnish" to it. You end up with clean shiny silver or epns and black aluminium foil.
I also use vinegar to remove calcium deposits on taps and tumblers of water that have been standing any time- we have very hard water here. Add vinegar and a ilittle water, leave it for 10 minutes or so, rub off the limescale and wash normally.

Well my daughter gave me that one from Kim and Aggie from How clean is your house.Another one she uses is when she's running late for work as a driving instructor, she jumps out the shower and puts all the blowers on hot in the car and dries her hair. She says it is dry in a matter of minutes.
