Ma Larkin, I am so sorry to hear about your daughter's condition. I have never heard of it so did a quick Google search. There's lot of info. available.
Maybe you could do some research on her behalf. She's still young and probably overwhelmed and sometimes too much info. that you read on the web can be really intimidating and rather scary. On the positive side, this has been discovered now while she's young and not thinking about having a family yet, so hopefully, when the time comes that she is ready to start a family, she will be armed with the correct info. and have the best treatment possible. Big hugs to your daughter and you both.
Hi Ma,
I think this is what my aunty has she found out when she had her first scan, i'm sure that they were worried that the baby would not go to full term but did and weighed a healthy 7lbs. The problems can lie with falling preganant but there is so much help now that i'm sure that when she is ready everything will be okay. Apparentley most people find out in this way (at there first scan) so she is lucky to know already. Try not to worry as there are alot of success stories out there! Hope this helps.
I have this condition too. I found out after having a miscarriage yet continued to be pregnant- it had actually been a twin pregnancy. (one baby in each bit). This was in the days when scans were in their infancy (forgive pun) and certainly hadn't got as far as the west country. I went on to have 3 healthy sons, all a bit early but have grown into 6foot plus adults. Probably this is quite a common thing, just wasn't known about in the past.
