Thanks for those links Crocus. I signed up for the Ideal Bite site. I recently went through my cleaning cupboard and have streamlined and changed the products I use. I bought several microfibre cloths. They work amazingly well. I keep one hanging over the shower door. Just dry off the glass after each shower. No need for harsh chemical cleaner. I also bought a couple of empty plastic spray bottles, filled them with a mixture of white vinegar and water - you can add a little essential oil to add a nice 'scent' if you want.
Again, this works just as well as any harsh, smelly, expensive chemical cleaner, at a fraction of the price. I also use baking soda to clean sinks and tubs.

I just remembered another thing I use white vinegar for. I read it worked well as a fabic
softener. I tried it and it does! Particularly with towels, fabric softeners seem to leave a little residue or coating on the towels. However, straight white vinegar didn't smell too nice. I now use mostly white vinegar with a splash of fabric conditioner to take the slight vinegar odour away. A little essental oil would do the same, I'm looking around for some here.

be careful with lavender oil though. It is very powerful. (often works as a stain remover)Never use un-diluted essential oils directly on the skin, polished surfaces or plastic.

Buy fresh foods instead of frozen ones. Frozen food uses 10 times more energy to produce and together with this also buy locally grown and produce foods. Buying locally will save fuel and reduce related emissions. xx

Baking Soda Tips:

A thick paste of baking soda and water applied to bug bites can provide relief.

Sprinkle baking soda onto regular toothpaste to create a whitening toothpaste.

Sprinkle some in your veggies crisper and cover with a cloth or paper towel for crisper veggies that last longer.
