Inward Opening Casement Windows

Has anyone any experience of these. I need new windows upstairs which is a room in the roof, so difficult to clean and I thought inward opening would address this situation. I also want wood and not plastic frames.

I think that they aren't common in the UK, Pippa, but in Europe many houses seem to have them. I think that they look good, but if the window is in line for lots of wind and snow then maybe windows with a central opening isn't such a good idea? Maybe check out some of the continental window companies on the internet.
