Has anyone got any tips for whitening the grout between the tiles in the bathroom please.

There are pens that are actually designed for that problem. They work like a felt pen but I was told it takes quite some time if you have to do it in a larger area. Also I heard that it's possible to "re-grout" the tiles. I am not sure if this really works better ask at your DIY store.

You can try bleach, but you can also get grout cleaner from B&Q or Homebase sheds, it's fairy inexpensive and works quite well. Other than that, as Ivy says there are grout pens or just regrouting is an option.

I have used all 3 methods recently, Sheddie, and have to say that a good clean with bleach and then the grout whitener on the worst bits worked best. The important thing is to make sure that the existing grout isn't crumbling, and fix it if it is before using bleach. I found the grout pens to be more faffy than they are worth, unless you only have a small area of tiling to do.

The best way is to rake all the old out and re-do a long and tedious job though .
