ooooh i do love a bit of lamb, the best bit is the crispy fat im afraid. I dont know any healthy way other than dont eat it. Try chicken or fish to loose weight and have your lamb for a special treat.

My dr. (GP) once told me that it's not always the visible fat that's the problem, but the fat we don't see. That's the dangerous fat apparently. I don't think lamb say once a week can do that much harm. We don't have lam more than about 3 times a month, partly because it is so expensive, and because of the reasons mentioned above.

I love lamb and I don't think it is fattening at all. I love cooking Jamie Olivers Slow cooked lamb with lots of garlic and rosemary... Mmmmmmmmmm

Deboned leg of lamb are delicious on a slow barbeque! Do you perhaps have the Knorr products available in your supermarkets? I cannot remember noticing any, but I wasn't looking for it. Anyway, I add a bottle of Knorr French Salad Sauce over the leg of lamb, just that because it has enought flavour, and slow roast it in the oven. Delicious! I heard about this recipe on the radio one Saturday morning on a camping programme. It really is delicious. Very simple, and it sounds peculiar, but trust me, its lovely.

That sounds like it's worth a try Crocus,we don't have lamb all that often but I might just be tempted by that recipe of yours.

Sheddie,I don't think you need to worry too much about lamb being too fatty,if you don't have it all that often,it will be fine;Crocus' dr. is right sometimes it is the fat that you can't see which can be deceiving but...a little of what you fancy ...etc!!!

If you stand it on a wire tray to cook and don't add any extra fat the grease will all fall into the bottom of the dish .Don't think now and again will do any harm at all.
