Yes, I know what you mean eleanor2. Yesterday I bought celeric for the first time and, with olive oil, sea salt and black pepper made chips from it. All the family loved it!!!

Mine was my good old standby of basmati rice with lentil dhal. Not at all home grown, but home made. I bought some black cumin seeds a while ago and used them tonight. They seem much nicer than the usual green ones with a more delicate, smokey flavour - definately a good buy if you can get them. I love sweets too, sheddie, and home-made chocolate and brandy rice pudding is one of my favourites for winter.

You're quite right Oola but today I have been to The Lavender tearooms coffee morning in aid of The Macmillan Nurses and it's fatal - it's like death by chocolate! So my fish and chips got missed tonight and I know then I am complaining about putting weight on - I've never been so unfocused before about sensible eating HELP!!

What are you lot like for your ice-cream etc!! I must admit that ice cream is one of my favourites especially the Jerseyice cream which always beckons from the freezer it's out of this world and very rich but 'see if I care'!! Otherwise it has to be locally grown raspberries with jersy cream. Yummy!

I am still making the Easy Ice cream recipe I found on CL site. It is so good and very easy. I have passed it along the entire east coast of Australia. Last night we had it with an apple and sultana cake with caramelised topping. I really have to start walking again!!

Last night I made myself a Chana Masala (chick peas in a tomato-based spicy sauce) with rice, and then for pudding I made an apple and raspberry crumble with traditional ice cream. The apples and raspberries were free from my grandmother's garden...it didn't need too much sugar and the ice cream really mellowed out the sharpness of the raspberries.

After reading all these 'foody' posts, I'm as hungry as anything! Must go and have a fruit or a glass of water! Weight, weight. Struggle to get rid of it.
