Bought the first issue of 'Home Farmer' yesterday in WH Smiths.
The Editors sound really enthusiastic about their new mag and promise to give all information about subjects in their articles. This month it shows how to make your own butter and looks so simple, even I could do it!. There are articles on Bee keeping which give some good background information about the bees themselves. Tomatoe and Potatoe growing, keeping hens and pigs etc. They are going to encourage people to be self sufficient...even if it is in one produce, recipes and lots more. So I think it is a good and informative read

Sounds good Sunflower, will look out for it. I used to buy the Smallholder mag. but sometimes only one article any interest to me.
Excellent, I think I will probably have to locate a copy for myself. Might involve a trip to Milton Keynes though in Easter hols - argh! I wonder if my local corner shop will order it in for me?

Just been onto Google and I managed to subcribe to the magazine.
I'm impatient, I'll only be able to subscribe as of next Tues! I have £3 or £4 in my wallet though that I could buy the first issue with. I will probably subscribe but want to get the first issue in. Might trundle up to WH Smiths later on this evening to see if it's there.

Any luck Oola with the magazine?
No I didn't get to go last night, I ended up making a gazillion phonecalls trying to co-ordinate my Mum's surprise 50th birthday and all the treats that go with it!!! I've got a tonne of work on to get done by tomorrow (which begs the question, why am I not doing it now?), so I will probably just wait until the weekend when I go into town with my sister to get all the decorations for Mum's party.

When is it your Mum's 50th. My girls did me a surprise 50th and it was lovely, now sadly moving on to 52!

Just to let you know that I am really enjoying the Home Farmer magazine. My second copy arrived this morning and I am about to sit down with a cuppa to read it. It has good information and not to many adverts, so thanks Sunflower for putting me onto it.
There seems to be a good article on Hens this month.

It's a really interesting magazine is'nt it and most stuff so do-able! I like the idea of building an outside oven...albeit a small one.

Yes me too Sunflower I have thought of asking Ken but then he might think I have gone bonkers wanting a brick oven like that outside.

Had to keep him busy with other things this weekend maybe I will try next weekend, he was saying last night that I always seem to create something new every weekend for him to do. I hate sitting around when there are things that can be done or even built!!
